The foundation for this featured custom design begins with traditional Native American basket work. Being more than a pattern, basketry reflects generational knowledge, survival, and cultural continuity. Coils are formed through skill and intention. By shaping this custom acorn basket pendant around a language of weaving, we aimed to preserve cultural depth while giving the piece a proper contemporary presence in gold.
This basket design began with a simple purpose to honor two ancestral paths, Luiseño and Yuhaaviatam, each carrying history, strength, and generational memory, brought together at one center. Our goal was to create a piece that reflects the depth of that connection.
Above the circular form sit two iconic diamond "P" & "Y" logos placed down the basket's center. Look beyond the letters into the basket's base and you will find precious acorns in a high polish finish set beneath them as they sit at the symbolic heart of the piece. This detail honors the original idea while giving the wearer a meaningful anchor point that connects lineage, identity, and personal pride.
The pendant’s body also free spins smoothly while the symbols remain fixed at the center. Diamonds line the outer edge of the basket, giving the design movement and depth with every shift of light. The result is a piece created with a unique intention. It holds family, culture, and story while reflecting the style and strength the wearer carries each day.
